Dana grew up in Massachusetts, where she spent much of her childhood hiking and skiing throughout New England. These early outdoor experiences fostered a lasting appreciation for nature and wildlife, along with a strong sense of responsibility to help protect them. She studied environmental education and Latin American studies at Colby College, focusing on how immersive learning experiences can deepen understanding and inspire meaningful environmental action.

After graduating, Dana moved to Chile, where she spent three years teaching English language and culture to corporate professionals and members of the Chilean Congress. Living and working abroad strengthened her cross-cultural communication skills and deepened her connection to Latin America.

Returning to the United States, Dana joined Earthwatch Institute as an English-Spanish Program Coordinator on the Program Delivery Team, supporting environmental research expeditions throughout Latin America. She advanced within the team over time, taking on increasing responsibility while helping coordinate a diverse portfolio of international expeditions and fellowship programs for public, corporate, educator and student audiences.

Dana brings more than a decade of experience in international travel, environmental programming and education. She holds certifications in Education for Sustainable Development from UNESCO and Wilderness First Aid, and she is fluent in Spanish. She is passionate about supporting field research and creating opportunities for people to connect directly with scientists and conservation efforts around the world.
