Our Mission

Earthwatch Expeditions mobilizes people to advance environmental science and protect the planet through hands-on research alongside world-class scientists.

Protecting the natural world begins with understanding it. Our expeditions immerse participants in the research shaping how wildlife, ecosystems and our changing planet are studied and protected.

Through field-based collaboration, participants work directly with scientists to collect data that supports long-term studies of environmental change and informs real conservation decisions. This work contributes to ongoing research efforts while offering a clear, tangible connection between individual participation and scientific outcomes.

The impact extends beyond the data itself. Participating in research reshapes perspective—curiosity deepens into commitment, and awareness leads to informed action. In this way, Earthwatch fosters not only scientific contribution but also a broader understanding of environmental challenges and solutions.

We are building a global community of people who move beyond passive concern to active engagement—individuals who help discover, understand and protect the natural world.
