Earthwatch Institute

Earthwatch Institute is an independent nonprofit focused on advancing science education, environmental research and expanding access to hands-on field experiences. Through philanthropy, partnerships and global programs, Earthwatch Institute supports scientists, engages students and educators and opens pathways into participatory science. Its work helps sustain long-term research, extend knowledge beyond academic circles and make field experiences more accessible to more people, especially educators and young people in underserved communities.

By connecting funding, education and access, Earthwatch Institute supports the work behind the research—and broadens who gets to take part. A portion of every Earthwatch Expeditions trip fee directly supports scientists, equipment and field research staff, ensuring the continuation of this vital hands-on research.
