Physical Requirements
At Nat Hab, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Travelers must be able to walk 2 miles unassisted along a variety of terrain and should expect to walk 2-4 miles per day
Hikes range from 1–4 miles each; travelers should expect 2-5 hours of physical activity daily
Most hikes are at a leisurely pace with guided interpretation
Terrain includes gravel, pavement, and dirt paths generally over uneven ground with some easy to moderate inclines. Trails are often muddy, especially after rainfall. Good balance and the ability to manage tree roots, rocks, and sometimes slippery conditions is essential
For hikes longer than 2 miles, the opportunity to turn back or shorter alternatives may be available; longer hikes may be offered in Corcovado and Arenal
Getting to Corcovado requires a wet boarding and landing to get on and off the boat; extra assistance will be offered.

Daytime temps range from 75–90°F with high humidity
Overnight temps are slightly cooler, especially in Monteverde
Sun can be intense; activities are often scheduled for mornings and late afternoons

Arenal elevation: ~2,400 feet
