Our Story

Hamza Raza Visram

Hamza grew up in Bukoba in Tanzania's Kagera region, a vibrant town on the shores of Lake Victoria, Africa's largest lake. Surrounded by water and wildlife from an early age, he developed a fascination with the natural world that eventually led him to a career in guiding. He holds a Certificate and Diploma in Wildlife Tourism Management and has been guiding since 2010.

Hamza has extensive knowledge of Tanzania's national parks and broad experience leading walking safaris, photography expeditions and guide training programs. He began his career at Rubondo Island National Park, home to exceptional birdlife and species such as spotted-necked otters, chimpanzees and sitatunga. He later spent six years guiding in the central Serengeti, working in a variety of camps, including mobile migration camps, while deepening his understanding of East Africa's ecosystems and wildlife behavior.

A friend introduced Hamza to wildlife photography after high school, sparking an interest that continues to shape his work today. He learned the craft with a camera passed down from his father and developed his skills through years in the field. Today, he leads photography-focused safaris throughout East Africa's national parks and protected areas, helping travelers improve their skills while capturing memorable wildlife encounters.

Beyond Tanzania, Hamza has led gorilla treks in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and chimpanzee treks in Kibale National Park. He has also led cultural and town tours in Bukoba, sharing insights into Tanzanian traditions and daily life.

Based in southern Tanzania, Hamza works at Kwihala Camp in Ruaha and leads and trains guiding teams in Nyerere National Park. He enjoys mentoring new guides and sharing his passion for wildlife, conservation and photography with travelers from around the world.
